Mohammad Reza Safavian

Mr. Mohammad Reza Safavian is a civil engineering honor graduate from the American University in Beirut in 1964. He has two Masters’ degrees, one in Civil Engineering (1970) and the other in Economics (1971) from Memphis State University in Tennessee/U.S.A. He then has studied in various management courses in Canada and dropped out of his PhD school to return to Iran. He also has a Distinctive Bachelor’s degree which is approved by the IRSCE. Mr. Safavian has been the head of the board of directors at the IRSCE for 3 terms and has been of great value in this position.

 

TourajAmirsoleymani

Dr. TourajAmirsoleymani, has a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Stanford University (1962), a Master’s degree in Foundation Engineering in 1964 and consequently a PhD degree in Soil Mechanics from the university Birmingham/England. After returning to Iran he started teaching in Tehran University’s Faculty of Engineering and then took on other responsibilities including the Course Master, Researching Chief and the Deputy Manager of Tehran University’s Faculty of Engineering. Subsequently, through establishing his firm, “Mandro Consulting Engineers” he has been of great service in his technical field of work from which a few are mentioned here; innovation of a method to repair the unequal subsidence of heavy buildings and the new method of design and manufacturing of excavation machine and sampling from seabed. He has been the head of the board of directors in the IRSCE for one term and the head of Geotechnical Engineering Society and also the head of Civil Calculators Engineering Society.

In 1998, he participated in an election to become a member in the board of directors of the International Consulting Engineers Federation which was carried out in Holland and succeeded. He served as a member of the board of directors of the above mentioned federation for 4 years and continued to be an effective force at the international level as well.

 

Hossein Mahmood

Dr. Hossein Mahmood became a veteran of consulting engineers in 1963. He has received his Phd in Architecture from the University of Rome in 1959. In 1964 he establish the Consulting Engineers Syndicate and later merged it with Civil Consulting Engineers Syndicate to form the Iranian Society of Consulting Engineers.

In 1981, he established the Consulting Engineers Co-op and was the head of it until 1998. From 1963 to 1983, he was the CEO of ORIAN Consultants and afterwards the name of the company changed to DID, which currently he is the CEO of.

 

Mehdi Ghalibafian

The late and beloved Dr. Mehdi Ghalibafian, was a first ranked graduate in 1959 from Tehran University’s Faculty of Engineering and was then dispatched to France to research in the framework of European Committee of Concrete. In 1964 he succeeded to acquire a PhD in Reinforced Concrete Buildings Engineering. He spent many years teaching at Tehran University. He also commenced design and calculation of building structures based on reinforced concrete structures and published numerous books and articles on the field. He was also involved in the establishment of many technical and vocational facilities in Iran. As a part of SANO Consultants, he acted as one of the founders of the company and the head of structure and retrofitting of buildings. God rest his soul.

 

Ana Akhoondi

Mr. Ana Akhoondi, is a pioneer of water constructions in Iran. He was graduated in 1957 from Tehran University’s Faculty of Engineering and has passed a training course with Professor Jean Frandon from France Poly-technique University. He has expertise in designing hydraulic constructions, small or large dams and irrigation systems. In 1961, he established PARS CONSULT Company and has also taught hydraulics in different higher educational institutions and authored numerous books and scientific journals.

In more than 49 years of service, he has designed 96 hydraulic constructions.

 

Ahmad Al-Yasin

Mr. Ahmad Al-Yasin, is a pioneer in Hydraulic engineering and water utilities. He is a graduate of Tehran University and has studied hydraulic structures in Holland and has a PE Technical Engineering License from the U.S. In his 50 years of service, he has acted as the supervisor in the construction of DEZ dam, head of design and executive supervisor of the DEZ irrigation system construction, the executive manager of KAROON cultivation and industry, and the founder of KAROON 2 and 3 dams as the manager of Khouzestan’s Water and Power Organization. Through establishing PAPILA Consultants, he has succeeded to carry out expansive projects including sugarcane cultivation and industry of Mianab and Dehkhodar. So far, he has authored 12 volumes on different fields related to water and hydraulics.

 

Amir NosratMofatteh

Mr. Amir NosratMofattehgraduated in Fine Arts in 1946. He is the founder of Iran’s Consulting Engineering Syndicate and its manager and the deputy manager of Iranian Architects Association. He is also one of the founders of the IRSCE and held the title of deputy manager for two terms in this society.

 

 

BahramFarivar Sadri

Mr. BahramFarivar Sadri, has a Master’s Degree in Architecture from Tehran University’s Fine Arts College in 1963. He acquired his PhD Degree in Urban Planning from the same institution in 1966. In pursuing his education, he completed Area Planning and Management, while working in cooperation with the Science Academy of Poland, in the University of Szczecin. He also completed the same course in a U.N. center in the city of Nagoya, Japan. From 1963 to 1974, working in the technical office of the Ministry of State, he was in charge of managing and designing the development designs required by the municipality. From 1975 to 2009, he acted as the CEO and a member in the board of directors of SHARESTAN Consultants and has taken responsibility in numerous architectural and urban planning projects includingthe master plans and detailed plans of the cities of Kerman, Bandar Abbas, Sirjan, the new city of Majlessi in Isfahan, the new city of Alavi in Bandar Abbas, the new city of Sahand and also the constructions on the sides of Navab highway.

Since the renewal of the IRSCE after the revolution of Iran until today, Mr. Sadri has been a member of the board of directors and the head of the urban planning department. He was elected as the urban planner of the year and a pioneer in urban planning in Iran by the community of urban planners in 2005.

 

BijanGhavimi

Mr. BijanGhavimi is one of the veterans of consulting engineering and also one of the founding members of the IRSCE. He was graduated from the University of Leeds in the U.K and along with some colleagues he founded OSTADKAD Consultants in 1960 which was active in road constructions.

In the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the IRSCE, he was awarded a veteran in the field of consulting engineering and received a prize for his achievements.

 

JalaleddinShafiee

Mr. JalaleddinShafiee was graduated from the Science College of Tehran University in the field of Physics in 1952. In 1955, he completed a Land Surveying course in the Land Surveying College.

In 1961, through an International Atomic Energy Scholarship associated with the U.N., he worked in EURATOM atomic center in Belgium for a year. In 1973-74 he acted as the manager of the State’s Land Surveying Organization and after retirement has been the CEO of ATLAS TEHRAN Consultants.

 

JahanfooladFiroozfooladi

Mr. JahanfooladFiroozfooladi, in one of the pioneers of oil, gas and petrochemicals. He is a Mechanics Engineering graduate from Berkley University in California, U.S.A. in 1963. In his 45 years of service he has done a great deal including establishing the first 100% Iranian privately traded company (Ltd.) in the field of consulting engineering. He has also acted as manager to numerous petroleum, gas and petrochemical utilization projects, as designer and supervisor of the biggest natural gas refinery station in Iran and also in Olefin and Polyolefin stations.

 

Reza Asefi

Mr. Reza Asefi is one of the pioneers in the field of mining and was a graduate of Tehran University in 1955. In 1965, he succeeded in acquiring a Master’s Degree in Mineral Processing from the University of Nova Scotia in Canada and then studied a Mine Management course for three months in Australia. He has been active in over one hundred projects, particularly mineral processing activities including DANDI lead and zinc, IRANCO lead and zinc, Esfordi phosphate factories and many others.

For over 10 years, Mr. Asefitaught in different institutions, colleges and universities including Tehran University’s Faculty of Engineering’s Mining College, Amir Kabir University, ShahidBeheshti University and many others.

 

AtaollahEttehadieh

The late Mr. AttaollahEttehadieh received his Master’s Degree from London College in 1929. He was the first Iranian CEO of the Iranian Gas and Oil Company and became a member of the board of directors of this company since it became nationalized. He was one of the founders of the IRSCE and the first CEO of this society. He passed away in 1991; May he rest in peace.

 

Ali Aynehchian

Mr. Ali Aynehchian received his Master’s Degree in Mechanics from Amir Kabir University in 1962 and pursued a graduate degree in human resources and workforce planning in Italy. In his 50 years of service took on several responsibilities and positions including: teaching in Tehran Polytechnic University in the field of Fundamental Sciences, the manager of Work and Labor Ministry’s Vocational Education Office, The Road and Transportation Ministry’s Plan and Management office and etc.

 

Ali RoboubiKhaboushani

Mr. Ali RoboubiKhaboushani, graduated in Civil Engineering from Tehran University’s Faculty of Engineering in 1963 and served as Supervising Engineer, Designing Engineer and shareholder in Dr. GholamrezaKouros’ Consultants Company until 1982. Since 1982, he established and has managed ABRAN Consultants Company, and has worked in his own field, being active in more than a hundred different projects in Urab Water and Sewage field. In the thirtieth anniversary of the establishment of IRSCE, he was awarded as a pioneer and a veteran in the field and in 2005 and 2008 he was elected as a member of the board of directors of IRSCE in the Urban Utility department.

GholamrezaZahari

Mr. GholamrezaZahari, was graduated from Tehran University’s Faculty of Engineering in 1959 and succeeded to obtain a Master’s Degree in Business Administration in 1978. In his 50 years of service, he has taken on major responsibilities and positions in design and supervision of Structural Projects. Mr. Zahari has also published books and professional articles in the field. He is one of the founders of SANO Consultants Company and served as the CEO of the company for 35 years and as the head of the board of directors of the company for 2 years. He is currently a member of the board of directors of SANO Consultants Company.

 

FiroozArdeshirian

Mr. FiroozArdeshirian is one of the pioneers in the field of Oil, gas and petrochemicals consulting engineering, and is a graduate in Mechanics Engineering from Sharif University in 1970. He received a Master’s Degree in Automated Controls from Manchester University in 1974. For 28 years he served as the CEO of NAMVARAN Consultants Company and currently he is the head of the board of directors of NAMVARAN RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT Consultants Company. He has been a major contributor to the field of oil, gas and petrochemicals in his years of professional service.

 

Mahmoud Tooserkani

Mr. Mahmoud Tooserkani, graduated in Architecture from Tehran University’s Fine Arts College in 1962. In the thirtieth anniversary of the establishment of IRSCE, he was among those who were awarded as pioneers and veterans. He is one of the founders of GROUP 4 Consulting Engineers Company and has been of service to the field for 46 years continuously. Mr. Tooserkani has been an active member of the IRSCE since its establishment and for 3 consecutive terms was elected as the head of the board of directors of the IRSCE, member of the board of directors of the IRSCE, member of the Architecture department’s board of the IRSCE and the head of the inspection committee. In 1994, he served as the Chief Secretary of Tehran Province’s Construction Engineering for three years and afterward, until 2002, served in the disciplinary council of the Engineering Organization.

 

MortezaHoghooghi

Mr. MortezaHoghooghi, a pioneer in agricultural sector, is a graduate from the Agriculture College of Tehran University in 1954. He has taken on major positions in agriculture sector for many years including: founding and organizing in new agricultural units “Cultivation and Industries”, “Agricultural Corporations” and “Rural Production Cooperatives”. He also has been a member of the board of directors of the IRSCE for three terms. The continuity of his service has been more than 55 years now.

 

ManoochehrEhteshami

One of the pioneers in the fields of Urban Development and Road Construction who obtained his Master’s Degree from the Tehran University’s Faculty of Engineering in 1958. He offered his services in the fields of engineering and supervision and management in urban planning and road construction projects in different positions including: ASPHALT General Manager, the CEO of Soil Mechanical and Technical Laboratory of Road and Transportation Ministry, the Deputy Director of Technical Management and Traffic Unit of Tehran’s Municipality. By establishing ETTEHAD RAH Consulting Engineering Company in 1981, he has served as the head of the board of directors and the CEO of the above mentioned company. In addition to teaching in his field of study in different faculties, he has several important publications including 5 volumes of Road Construction, In Ferdowsi’s Tomb and the Pioneers of Astronomy.

 

Mehdi Mazhari

Mr. Mehdi Mazhari received his Master’s Degree in Power Engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 1968. After returning to Iran, he worked in FARMANFARMAYIAN & COLLEAGUES Consulting Engineering Company and then in TABIRAN Contractor Company. By founding LEAGUE Consulting Engineering Company he became a member of the IRSCE.

 

HadiMirmiran

The late Mr. HadiMirmiran, one the greatest pioneers of Iran’s Architeture, graduated in Architecture from the School of Fine Arts of Tehran University with the highest grade in 1968. Each of his creations is an incredible feat, from among them a few can be mentioned: the master plan and the detailed plan of Shiraz and Isfahan cities, the revitalization plan of the historical main road of Shiraz, Kohneh Square and Atiq General Mosque of Isfahan, Karimkhan Complex in Shiraz, the historical area of Tabriz, the headquarters building of Tos’eSaderat Bank of Iran (Iran Export Development Bank), the central library of Shiraz, the sports center of Rafsanjan, the bar association of the Judiciary and many more. He has won first place in 12 different architectural competitions and most of his designs were generally elected as the best. The design of the National Library of Japan, the Historical Museum of Fresno-California, and the design of the academia of the Islamic Republic of Iran are among some of those elected designs. May he rest in peace.

 

Yousef Shariatzadeh

The late Mr. Yousef Shariatzadeh was among the pioneers of architecture in Iran who were discussed in the thirtieth anniversary of the establishment of the IRSCE. He graduated from the School of Fine Arts of the Tehran University and effectively started his career in architecture from 1959. Mr. Shariatzadeh, founded BONYAN Consulting Engineering Company in 1971 and through this firm accomplished many great feats in design and construction of universities, food industries, administrative buildings and residential complexes. His sudden and unforeseeable passing in 2001, deeply saddened the Society and his colleagues and Iran lost one of its most prolific and valuable architects. May his soul rest in peace.

 

GitiEtemad

Ms. GitiEtemad, is a PhD graduate in the field of Urban Planning from Tehran University in 1972 and has a subspecialty degree in Urban Planning of Third World Countries from the London University. She was the head of the board of directors of TARH & MEMARI (Design & Architecture) Consulting Engineering Company and also the deputy manager of the Consulting Engineers and Urban Planners Guild of Iran. She also has several field related publications and articles.
